For around $100, I think this is a pretty good package. I’ve had a few other cell cams to compare it to. This is quick to set up and get it running. The solar panel simply plugs in and off you go.The good stuff is the price, the ease of initial setup, and the photo quality, which is surprisingly good. The okay stuff:The cellular reception. At my house in the burbs, it’s just fine, not surprisingly. At my cabin in Wisconsin I was not able to get a signal in a remote patch of woods. Granted, my cell phone barely works there. But, my other cell cameras have functioned there and this one doesn’t. However, closer to my cabin where I get decent reception, it does work. I had to leave it there for several hours, but it eventually settled in and is working fine. The app. While it’s easy to set it up initially, the settings are confusing. By default, it takes videos, which I’m not interested in and which consume more of the data and SD card than images. I managed to get it to stop taking videos, but I’m not sure how. It’s either “record switch” or “SD loop” options. There’s also a hunting mode where it’s supposed to have a separate section just to look at photos. The section is there, but the photos aren’t. No big deal, I like the calendar view that shows pictures, but it’s a feature that I can’t figure out how to use.Bad stuff: the only bad thing I can see is that it appears there is no way to replace the batteries in the future. My other cell cam’s lithium batteries died after a couple years, but I was able to replace them by opening up the camera.Overall, I think it’s a pretty good value.Update after a month- now I like the camera more. Once it spent some time at the cabin, where there was some cell reception, it’s almost like it got used to the towers around here or something. It started to work really well, so I moved it back out into the woods where I’ve had trouble with reception, and it is working perfectly. It takes very good pictures and never gives me false positives. Now I am very impressed for the price of this, especially considering that the month-to-month plan is only about ten bucks. The seller said the batteries are replaceable, also. Maybe if I took the camera apart it would be obvious.
